Service Description

CLASS DESCRIPTION (NOT FOR BEGINNERS) Focus: Strength & Endurance Pre-Requisites: Beginner Levels 1, 2, & 3 complete Prop Requirements: Encouraged as needed, but prepare to let them go. NOT FOR BEGINNERS. This level builds on the basic principles taught in the Beginner Series. The class is designed for practitioners who have experienced the healing and strengthening path presented in Beginner Levels 1, 2, & 3. The 36-Week Intermediate Program is where you begin to chisel out any weaknesses. To participate in this Level 1 class, you have already gained an adequate amount of strength, flexibility, and command of your body you developed by the end of your training at Beginner Level 3. Minimal verbal cueing begins at this level. You are expected to have already gained a full understanding of the breath, basic alignment principles, and how they apply to Vinyasa. Intermediate Level 1 begins with an additional exploration of the elements of balance, strength, and alignment. Students are taught the principles of Tristhana and learn the essential requirements of strength and courage for success at this level. Core strength will be explored for its crucial role in Hatha Yoga. In preparation for Intermediate Level 2, you begin to develop more flexibility and pliability through more vigorous Vinyasa flows and longer duration of the static holds. Be prepared to hold a Downward Facing Dog for up to 2.5 minutes. Leveling Up: Please read the description for IL2. Moving on to Intermediate Level 2 depends on the degree of strength and endurance you have developed. Beginners will not be allowed unless they have completed the Beginner’s series or recommendation by KarmaKick®Yoga.
