Service Description

CLASS DESCRIPTION (NOT FOR BEGINNERS) Focus: Strength, Endurance, Inversion Prep, Athletic Pliability Pre-Requisites: Intermediate Level 1, or Approval Prop Requirements: No props. NOT FOR BEGINNERS. Progressing from Intermediate Level 1, this challenging class continues the journey of developing strength and athletic pliability for the work to be encountered in Level 3 and the Advanced Program. The class format introduces the student to the full flow of the Astanga Yoga Primary Series Opening Sequence in a segmented manner. Each pose is studied and practiced in detail. The poses within the form were previously explored and students are now oriented towards building more strength, endurance and athletic movement. Advancement will depend on your level of strength and flexibility. Be prepared to study the progressive KarmaKick®Yoga approach (karmānupūrva) as applied to inversions. As you advance at this level, expect to work your way up to holding postures for a minimum of 2.5 minutes. Leveling Up: Please read the class description for IL3. Moving on to Intermediate Level 3 will depends on the student’s ability to sustain poses and flow through the Vinyasas with controlled movement and alignment. A demonstrable degree of strength and endurance will not be an issue for the advancing student.
